Each page covers the same ground: what the problem usually is, how we diagnose it, what changes the price, and the questions we get asked most.
Most people search for a plumber using the symptom, not the trade term. That is the sensible way to do it, so here is the translation.
One slow fixture is usually a blocked drain local to that fixture. More than one slow fixture, or water rising in the gully outside, points at the main line. When it keeps coming back, the answer is a camera inspection to find out why, then either jet blasting to clean the line properly or relining to fix the pipe itself.
A wet patch that will not dry, a water bill that has jumped, or the sound of running water with everything turned off, all mean a leak. Water coming through a ceiling after rain is more likely roof plumbing or gutters. Water pooling against the house or a yard that will not drain is stormwater.
No hot water, not enough of it, or rusty water is hot water. A dripping tap or a cistern running all night is taps and toilets, and it is worth fixing sooner than most people do because it goes straight onto the water bill.
Anything involving gas is gas fitting and it has to be done by a licensed gasfitter with a certificate at the end. If you can smell gas right now, turn it off at the meter, open the doors and windows, do not touch light switches, and call us.
Strata managers and building managers want strata plumbing, where the question of lot versus common property matters as much as the pipe. Shops, offices and warehouses want commercial plumbing, usually scheduled around trading hours.
If your block is unsewered, waste goes to a septic tank or treatment system rather than Sydney Water's sewer, and it needs looking after on a schedule. If your water comes from a tank, that is tanks and pumps.
